Alcohol and sleeping pills should be avoided. Get a small supply of compresses and two to three soft cooling elements. A migraine mask also serves well. Further preparations are not required. However, you should not make-up and rested and bring dark sunglasses.

Before the actual procedure, the surgeon decides on the incisions which leads to an optimal result. With a pen, he draws an exact sketch on the skin. The excess skin is removed in much detail with the scalpel. Stitching is done with continuous, extremely thin threads, which are buried in the skin and externally not visible (intracutaneously). Bleeding is extremely rare but may occur one to two days after surgery. There are a few cases of persistent visual impairment in the literature. The cause of this must be assumed arteriosclerosis of the eye vessels. However, the ophthalmological examination excludes this risk.

Be prepared to cover your eyes with wet compresses and ice packs for a day or two. This is how the swelling sounds faster. Any blood residue along the seam can be carefully removed with moist pads. The intracutaneous threads are pulled in the clinic on the fifth day after the operation.

You should not put eye creams or ointments in the first week after surgery. Even make-up should not be brought directly to the fresh scar. Remember, the skin helps itself best. To conceal any bruising, it is best to wear dark sunglasses.
